Our Objectives
  • Establish and provide a recognised certification and membership body for persons engaged in professional accountancy services;
  • To ensure that citizens remain in control of the institute activities and in decision making.
  • Cultivate culture of social responsibility
  • To seek affiliation with other professional bodies accordingly, proactively contributing to the advancement of the Zimbabwe accountancy profession;
  • Afford its members a professional identity;
  • To promote the taking of initiative by members in promoting their own country, operating in a transparent and accountable manner in all its dealings;
  • To promote education for auditors and accountants in Zimbabwe;
  • Take such actions as may be necessary to improve and sustain the status, professional image and, conduct of its members;
  • Provide its members with a network through which they are able to share knowledge, skills and experience with one another;
  • To culture a sense of good citizenship in its members and work with the state in fostering economic growth;
  • Working through PAAB to ensure compliance by members with all laws, and the requirements of IFAC and ECSAFA;
  • Undertake any other actions which may be conducive to attaining the aforesaid objectives;

Legal Standing

Institute of Certified Public Accountants is a constituency member of Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB), CHAPTER 27:12

Public Accountants and Auditors Board is a statutory body governed by an Act of Parliament in Zimbabwe for the accreditation of Registered Public Accountants and Auditors.

PAAB does not set examinations. Examinations are set by the constituent professional bodies.
